👉 Absorption pimples, also known as comedones, form when hair follicles become clogged with sebum (oil) and dead skin cells. This blockage occurs when pores become enlarged, often due to excess oil production or hormonal changes that stimulate sebum secretion. In the case of non-inflammatory (open) comedones, the pore remains open but the hair shaft is trapped inside, creating a small, white or black bump. In closed comedones, the hair shaft is completely sealed off, resulting in a blackhead or whitehead. The buildup of these blockages leads to inflammation and the formation of pimples, which can be painful and unsightly.
